The idea of the Pascha fabric pattern came from Anatole Lapine, head of the Style Porsche design studio from 1969 to 1988, who had envisioned a pattern that would mimic a waving chequered flag. 

Also known as 'Schachbrett' - the German word for checkerboard - the Pascha pattern became synonymous with the avant-garde interior styles of the 928 and 924 of the 1980s.
